Lou Lorenzi-Prince at my table at BATS

This was my first time setting up a vendor table and I didn’t have a sign of any kind. While I was setting up my husband went out to get us espresso after carrying the boxes in. He was gone about an hour. In that time he went back to the hotel room, e-mail the banner graphic from my website to FedEx-Kinkos and came back with this huge vinyl sign.
The Seven Soul Centers with with Robert Place – Nov. 26, 2008
The theory of the seven psychic centers in the body, commonly called the Chakras, is thought to originate in India. However, the oldest writing in India that describes it dates from the second century AD. In the West we can find them described in detail in the writings of Plato in the fourth century BC, and can find similar ideas in The Egyptian Book of the Dead. The Greek philosopher, Pythagoras – the first man to call himself a philosopher – used the seven notes of his musical scale to bring the soul centers of his patients into harmony and health and realized that these seven centers figured in our spiritual development as well. This class will include a lecture demonstrating that the theory of the Chakras is a universal truth found in all cultures and focusing on the Western theories about the centers. It will also included meditative exercises designed to heighten sensitivity to the energy centers in the body and demonstrate how this sensitivity can be used to improve ones ability to use the Tarot cards for divination. The students will also learn how to use the Tarot for analyzing the health and balance of the seven soul centers.

I wish I had the information you give us in your podcast years ago when I had the kids under my care at the center . As you remember in the podcast when you interviewed me I talked about having my students create cards out of their interpretations of a card that meant the most to them. It would have made an interesting deck. might have tried to publish a short order for a charity or something that could have gave them a sence of doing something positive. maybe someone right now is thinking about doing something like that, And your podcast might give that spark. That is how important I think podcast like this are. thanks

Leisa & Dena -
This Podcast worked out very well! It gives an individual who wants to produce their own deck a great template to work from, but it also serves to give the general public a little better understandng of why things are priced the way they are – and that the artist and/or publisher is not makng a geat deal of money for the time involved.
Also, there can be a huge downside if you are not prepared to deal with the more radical side of John/Jane Q Public!
I am a handout afficianado anyway, and this one certainly comes in handy for anyone with any thought of creating and publishng a deck.
As for Lulu (or, I would imagine, any other POD publisher) – they can, shall we say, be “interesting” to work with. And yes – paying for proofs is a tad annoying!

Amazing!
And as I heard you talking about the things you went through to bring us The Alchemical Tarot, I felt very honored to be part of this (though) process… It made me value it even more than I already did.
Thanks for sharing, Leisa!

Hi Lisa:
Great episode! I really identified with everything Dena was saying about the Uranis Transit. As I am a 41 yr old female and definitely feeling many ‘mid-life’ questions, thoughts and even some anxieties, so your advice was VERY helpful regarding stepping back and really examining these vs irrationally acting upon them!
Question: (I must’ve missed this if mentioned).
Lisa: What deck were you using to do your Reading?
Thank you for sharing your reading with us, as it helped me to better understand how to interpret a reading and ’string’ all the cards together. (I can only do one card readings for myself and others, as a beginner. Doing more, drains me and I have difficulty tying all the cards together to make a cohesive reading).
