Episode 90: Uranus with Dena DeCastro

Dena DeCastro & I talk about Uranus and Uranus Transits and do a reading based on these themes.

Transiting Uranus By Dena DeCastro

The force of transiting Uranus has to do with change, liberation, and freedom.  Uranus transits often involve a “roller coaster” kind of feeling, and surprising and unexpected events.  Uranus helps us in our process of individuation, showing us where we stand apart from the herd.  This can manifest as an “itchy”, restless, and rebellious feeling that leads ultimately to breakthroughs and liberation from longstanding ruts in the area being impacted.

I find that the two of you combinding astrology and tarot cards facinating. you both have the ability to make the topic New, Fresh and Entertaining and I always learn something. Also as a fellow tarot reader I find the spreads that Leisa creates right on target. Great podcast from two of the most talented in their field

Decastro and Refalo combining tarot and astrology…it doesn’t get any better than this!

    Leisa & Dena -

As always, nicely done and quite informative. I feel compelled to add my voice to the seemingly negative view of certification in general. In some cases, one does not “need” to be certified, and we do need to be careful of those who create certifying systems simply to (a) make money, or (b) bind people to them. However, not all people can do studies on their own.

Another thought here is that 2009 in the sense of Universal Year energy is an 11/2 year – a year of expansion. Don’t dally with decisions – make your decision and then place you intent behind it for 2009. You will be gifted with the ability to grow your dream that perhaps is not there (or as easily accessible) in other years.

    Blessings,
    Bonnie

I’ve had my transits done with Dena. She’s a fabulous astrologer who really knows how to break things down. This was a great podcast. :)

  5. Dena DeCastro Says:

    Hi Bonnie,

I wanted to respond to your comment about certification, and clarify my own comment on the podcast. I absolutely agree with you that not all people can do studies on their own. I myself participated in an excellent certification program, Steven Forrest’s Apprenticeship Program in astrology. I’ve also recommended many of my own clients & students on to do that program. What I intended to say (and it was probably not clear) was that when one engages in such a program, one should not be doing it for expected accolades or automatic acceptance by clients or even colleagues. This stems from the inability to regulate or control the quality of such programs accross the board. One should choose such a program based on an intention to gather valuable tools for practice and hone one’s skills with a mentor or mentors they trust, rather than to be able to say “I have this certification which legitimizes me.” Just wanted to make clear that I’m not dissing certification programs…I’m a believer!

    Thanks, Dena
