Transiting Neptune By Dena DeCastro
Neptune is the planet which represents our ability to transcend our ego-self and connect with what we would perceive as mystical – that which is beyond mundane reality. This has its potentially positive and negative effects when it touches us by transit. Under its influence, we can experience heightened states of awareness, such as meditation, the perception of other realities, and mystical visions. Our psychic awareness may also increase, along with our sensitivity to other’s thoughts and feelings. Our dreams and other contacts with the unconscious become very prominent under a Neptune transit. Because it is a force that leads us to contemplate what is outside our every-day reality, the visions and insights we gain can lead us to experience epiphanies, but also confusion. In its dark aspect, Neptune’s influence can leave us vulnerable to delusion and self-deception. Being in the middle of a Neptune transit (especially by hard aspect – conjunction, square, or opposition) can engender the feeling of being in a “fog.” Neptune’s force is that which dissolves what it touches, like that of a large body of water. Its action is strong but subtle, and usually happens over time. Neptune transits last 2 – 3 years in its aspect to a planet in the natal chart.

Thanks for another great show! I’m really enjoying this series, and Neptune came at a great time … I just received my new copy of The Alchemical Tarot: Renewed, and so the Higher Purpose spread was my first reading with this new deck. It turned out to be a very encouraging reading: Who I Am : The Fool; Illusion/Delusion: Four of Vessels; Salt: King of Staffs; Mercury: Three of Staffs; Sulpher: King of Coins.
My interpretation was that I am poised at the beginning of a new phase in my life. At this time, I often feel stuck, but need to remember that this is an illusions. I am ending of time of being in the midst of the fire emotionally, and am finding my way to renewal. This can lead to a time of mastery in the external world (which, if true, would be welcome!).

What I was wondering as I was listening to the show was that it might so much better to do it to a friend and a friend to you, in order to be helped to understand the transits and facts…

The pairing of ReFalo and DeCastro is as reliably good as the pairing of Stilton and Port.
Thanks in particular for the focus on Neptune in this episode. The discussion here shed new light on a reading I recently had with (Sir) James Wells … cards that came up in that reading were discussed here* and voila, ahas started popping again. Delightful.
(*Seeds of growth = 9 swords, What am i really doing this (business) for = 5 cups (R), Resources guiding toward anxiety and frustration: 4 wands, … No wonder the card representing “resources guiding along the best path, toward health, wholeness, and prosperity?” turned out to be 6 pents.)

I love this series! It gives me such depth in considering the cards AND astrology. During both this episode and the one on Pluto, I had to rewind it often because something one or both of you said sent me whirling into my own thoughts and I missed chunks of the episodes! I’m so looking forward to the Uranus episodes and all others!
