The Tarot Court Series: Kings by Ginny Hunt

It’s said that ‘power corrupts’, but actually it’s more true that power attracts the corruptible. The sane are usually attracted by other things than power. When they do act, they think of it as service, which has limits. The tyrant, though, seeks mastery, for which he is insatiable, implacable. - David Brin,The Postman

All-powerful monarchs whose power was said to be a divine right, appointed by God and given free reign over the land and its subjects is, thankfully, a relic of the distant past. For as the above quote references, it seems quite true that power does corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely. History as well as current events show that men don’t seem to do well without limits. (more …)

Hermit’s Journey with Bonnie Cehovet - Esoteric Tarot Decks

Welcome to all of our listeners. This Pod Cast is going to be devoted to Esoteric decks - a category that includes decks based on Alchemy, Ceremonial Magick, Hermeticism and the Western Mystery Tradition. I love to walk this part of the Tarot deck path - doors are opened with the greatest of ease, and the wonders within allow one to, for a short time, live in very magickal world!

Those who are drawn to esoteric decks are often drawn to working with meditation, pathworking, ritual work, and ceremonial magick. A truism here would be that it is best to have at least a basic background in the Mysteries and Esoteric Symbolism before working in any way with these decks. Honor the decks - honor yourself.

Old Greek Stories by James Baldwin. Read by Rob Sheehe

(From the Preface)

Perhaps no other stories have ever been told so often or listened to with so much pleasure as the classic tales of ancient Greece. For many ages they have been a source of delight to young people and old, to the ignorant and the learned, to all who love to hear about and contemplate things mysterious, beautiful, and grand. They have become so incorporated into our language and thought, and so interwoven with our literature, that we could not do away with them now if we would. They are a portion of our heritage from the distant past, and they form perhaps as important a part of our intellectual life as they did of that of the people among whom they originated.

Quite a nice look at those Kings, at their best … and at their worst! The better we gett o know these court cards, the less fearful of them we will be. They are, after all, only human. ;-)

Rob - it is a joy to hear you read these stories. I can just see the darkened stage, with you spotlighted, sitting on a tall stool, relating the stories to your audience.

    Blessings,
    Bonnie
